Abbotsford’s unique urban setting framed by the Fraser Valley and massive land areas dedicated to farming provides visitors with a diverse array of outdoor adventures and city experiences. You might choose to spend the day exploring Matsqui Regional Park which offers opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing and camping, or you could take to the skies to experience a tandem parachute jump offering a birds-eye view of the entire Fraser Valley. For a cultural experience we invite you to share an evening of classical music or the performing arts with many local amateur and professional performers. Abbotsford is home to a number of unique performance venues who open their doors to a wide variety of entertainment. Many homes in Abbotsford experience problems with pests and need assistance with pest control and termite control. If you have any experience with pests spread all over your property, you might already know how annoying that can be. And apart from being, it can also result in severe health problems as many different types of pests carry a variety of diseases. No matter what kind of product or home remedy you use, if the infestation is severe, you will hardly get any fruitful results. And even when you do, the joy will be short lived as the pests will generally get back on your property within a short span of time.
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch between Tuesday and Thursday for lower elevations in the Scottsdale area. Wednesday is expected to be the hottest day, weather officials said. The weather service has high confidence that temperatures will reach highs between 110 and 115 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday. They said they had slightly lower confidence that temperatures would reach above 110 degrees on Tuesday. “Our confidence continues to grow that we will have high heat risk temperatures developing across the area, and the reason is the models are showing strong high pressure expanding across the area,” meteorologist James Sawtelle said. “That’s a well known signature for excessive heat.” Staying safe Weather officials recommended actions people can take to prepare for the potential of extreme heat. “You want to limit your midday exposure and your activities,” Sawtelle said. “Seek air-conditioned shelters and interiors, limit your time outdoors, try to schedule your more vigorous outdoor activities for the early morning hours, and you should really stay hydrated and keep covered up.” If you have to be outside, wear clothing that protects you from the sun, such as a hat, sunglasses, and loose-fitting, light-colored pants and a long-sleeve shirt. Elderly people and young children are at risk of being heavily affected by the heat, according to Sawtelle. However, everyone should take precautions. “Everyone is at risk when the heat becomes excessive and the heat risk exceeds dangerous levels,” Sawtelle said.
